1. Definition: The SNO is the student chapter of The Network: TUFH, which will strive to promote interaction among students of member institutions and facilitate their active participation in Network: TUFH activities. The SNO will act as the voice of all students within The Network: TUFH.
The SNO is an independent student organisation that works together with The Network: TUFH and recognizes the Network and its constitution as a mother-organisation.
2. Objectives:
Education:- Renew education
- Focus on student-centered education
- Assess and assure student influence
- Increase awareness of student centered education among students and faculty members within The Network: TUFH
Exchange:- Provide information about, and facilitating exchange between Network: TUFH institutions
- Create and provide a framework for exchange
Projects:- Promote student activities within The Network: TUFH, for instance at the conference
- Increase student participation at Network: TUFH conferences
- Establish and maintain travel funds
- Aid the local SNOs' in starting community based projects
Communication:- Facilitate the exchange of ideas and information
- Produce a newsletter for its members
- Connecting the local SNOs'
- Contact other student organisations, and link with their networks
- Establish and update a World Wide Web-page for news and information, and link with relevant web sites
3. Criteria for membership: Every faculty affiliated with The Network: TUFH and all students who are interested
Students who participate in Network: TUFH activities, but whose institutions are non-Network: TUFH-members
4. Organisational structures: The Executive Committee of the SNO consists of 10 members:- Chairman
- Secretary General
- Regional representative of Africa
- Regional representative of South East Asia
- Regional representative of Australia and Oceania
- Regional representative of Europe
- Regional representative of the Middle East
- Regional representative of North America
- Regional representative of South America
In the Executive Committee, the regional representatives have one vote each and the chairman has only a tie-breaking vote. The election of the Executive Committee takes place at the biennial Network: TUFH conferences. Each SNO-institution present has one vote. The SNO officers can be re-elected. In addition, past officers will help the new elected member when ever they need help.
5. Job descriptions:
Chairman: Heads the student body Keeps active communication b/w EC and RR members Represents the SNO in the EC meeting of The Network: TUFH.
Secretary General: Calls for SNO meeting in conference Represents chairman in his absence Manages the budget. Corresponds with the SNO members.
Regional Representative: Maintain traveling funds Coordinate regional workshops Encourage students to write in the students' column of The Network: TUFH newsletter.

7. Target aim for coming year:
Education: To promote student centered education.
Exchange: To facilitate exchange between Network: TUFH institutions.
Projects: To increase the number of student participation in Network: TUFH meeting.
Communication: Forming a worldwide web page of SNO.
8. Strategies:- Encourage student involvement in the curriculum development
- Identify contact person ( student/teacher) in every institution who will be responsible for student exchange
- Post the list on www for easy contact
- Maintain traveling funds
- Schedule regional workshop
- Eencourage students to write in student column of the Network: TUFH newsletter
9. Report from last year:
Limitation/barriers:- Difficulty in staying in contact with EC members
- Difficulty in creating a web page due to lack of skills.
- Two of the regional representative from last year dropped out
- Unable to locate a regional representative for South America
Achievements:- EMR: Regional officer Emam Hussain held a workshop on the future of medical education in Sudan and student leadership development in Gizira medical school on 4th 8th Oct. 2000
- 5 new local SNO were formed in Sudan
- African regional representative Thomas Toltaku held a one day workshop on Introduction on PBL
- Recruited two new regional representative for South East Asia: Percy Gem and for the Pacific region: Rohan Willams
