Position Papers

As resolved during the 2000 Bahrain Conference, the past years Network: TUFH members have written Position Papers on the following topics:
  • Community-based education for health professionals

  • Community-based education for older persons

  • Integrating medicine and public health

  • Interprofessional education and practice

  • Primary care

  • Problem-based learning

  • The need for research in primary care to solve global health problems

  • The ultimate challenge? Higher education for adapting to change and participating in managing change
The initiative for writing a series of "position papers" on issues that are intimately related to the aims and objectives of The Network: TUFH was inspired by the wealth of information that is exchanged among the participants at Network: TUFH Conferences showing the range of approaches to education, health service and research and their adaptability to meet different needs at different places on the globe. Consequently, none of these papers should be interpreted as a static "Network: TUFH Declaration" but instead must be seen as starting points for further discussion.

You may contribute by submitting a letter to the Editor of the Network: TUFH Newsletter (at secretariat@network.unimaas.nl), by participating in sessions on these issues at Network: TUFH Conferences, or responding to the electronic versions of these position papers at The Network: TUFH's website.

It is now time for new topics, to depict and to revolve new visions and new discussions around. Therefore the Executive Committee of The Network: TUFH invites all members to pick up a pen, and write a position paper that tackles an issue close to your and the organisation's heart. For example, a position paper on Brain Drain, Aids, War Impact, and Change Management.

To help writers on their way, please have a look at the guidelines we have constructed on how to write a position paper.
